Here is the second lesson around katakana. This lesson will introduce the katakana: カ, キ, ク, ケ and コ, and the forms of these katakana with the dakuten ◌゛: ガ, ギ, グ, ゲ and ゴ. Let’s go!

カ
This katakana is pronounced like: か
It has 2 strokes:
Note the similarity between か and カ to remember this character.
Exercices:
- Write 10 times the character カ in a row.
- Write 5 times the word アカ / acc(ount) /.
キ
This katakana is pronounced like: き
It has 3 strokes:
Note also the way キ is similar to the top of き.
Exercices:
- Write 10 times the character キ in a row.
- Write 5 times the word あき / fall / using katakana: アキ.
- Write 5 times the word かき / persimmon / using katakana: カキ.
ク
This katakana is pronounced like: く
It has 2 strokes:
Exercices:
- Write 10 times the character ク in a row.
- Write 5 times the word きく / to ear / using katakana: キク.
- Write 5 times the word いく / to go / using katakana: イク.
ケ
This katakana is pronounced: け
It has 3 strokes:
Exercices:
- Write 10 times the character ケ in a row.
- Write 5 times the word いけ / pound / using katakana: イケ.
- Write 5 times the word おけ / bucket / using katakana: オケ.
コ
This katakana is pronounced like: こ
It has 2 strokes:
Exercices:
- Write 10 times the character コ in a row.
- Write 5 times the word こえ / voice / using katakana: コエ.
- Write 5 times the word こい / love / using katakana: コイ.
ガ, ギ, グ, ゲ, ゴ
As for hiragana, the dakuten ◌゙ can also be used with these katakana to make some voiced sounds:
